We start off with a traditional pound cake batter, add a touch of vanilla and almond, then fold in chopped, tart cherries. This lovely pound cake smells like fortune cookies when it is baking, and looks beautiful when it comes out of the oven. Each slice of this gorgeous, yet simple, pound cake contains pieces of cherry to make your taste buds happy. Wonderful on it’s own, or with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Also, pretty amazing warmed and then with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
