Wildly Organic American Native Heirloom Pecans are grown on small family farms on wild trees in Missouri. These farms take pride in their product and we directly purchase their USDA grade #1 Fancy Halves. They’re the highest quality organic American Native Pecans available and are unique in that they’re smaller with a sweeter, more buttery flavor than the other variety we carry—Texas pecans.

These pecans are both tender and naturally buttery. We activate the organic pecans through a low-temperature soaking and dehydrating process which unlocks their full nutritional potential and enhances their delicate texture, making them delicious and healthy.

We also take extra steps to make sure these nuts are created under excellent quality control conditions with cool storage. They are then sealed in vapor barrier packaging to help preserve their freshness, so you know you are getting only the best and most nutrient-dense pecans.

Scientific evidence suggests that eating 1.5 ounces per day of most nuts such as pecans as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. Either way, we know you’ll find these raw pecans to be amazingly tasty!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOAKING AND DEHYDRATING NUTS?

Sally Fallon and the Weston A. Price Foundation suggest that nuts be soaked and then dehydrated at low temperatures—here’s why:

Phytic acid occurs naturally in nuts, and it protects them from damage while they grow on the tree. Unfortunately, phytic acid binds to certain minerals and transforms into a phytate once the nuts mature, which inhibits your body’s ability to absorb all the nut’s nutrients.

To get rid of the phytate compound, each batch of pecans goes through several cycles of soaking, rinsing, and drying. This starts to break down the enzyme inhibitors as the nuts release their protective shield and unlock stored nutrients to prepare for growth. This process creates what some refer to as “activated nuts.”

Once the soaking process is complete, we dehydrate the nuts slowly at a very low temperature to extend the shelf life and give them a delicate crunch. The low-heat method will preserve the nutrients and ensure that your organic pecans remain entirely raw.
