WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOAKING AND DEHYDRATING NUTS?
Phytic acid occurs naturally in nuts, and it protects them until they’re ready for germination. Unfortunately, phytic acid binds to certain minerals and transforms into a phytate, which can inhibit your body’s ability to absorb nutrients from the nuts. “Activating” the seeds can help.
After several cycles of soaking and rinsing and allowing the raw sunflower seeds a little air, the enzyme inhibitors break down as the nuts release their protective shield and unlock stored nutrients to prepare for growth. This process activates the nuts or seeds.
Once the soaking process is complete, we dehydrate the nuts slowly at a very low temperature to extend the shelf-life and give them a delicate crunch. The low-heat method will preserve the nutrients and ensure that the organic sunflower seeds remain entirely raw.
Wildly Organic Sunflower Seeds arrive ready-to-use in 7 ounce and 1 pound vapor-barrier, resealable packaging to maintain freshness. 25 pounds available in a plastic bag (with no branding), zip-tied, and boxed. Packaging may include an oxygen absorber.
