We are currently growing Geronimo as our vine-ripened Beefsteak tomatoes which have received great flavor reviews.

PACKAGING – We sell “small/seconds” or “regular” size tomatoes in 1-pound increments (e.g. 1 lb. = 1+ lb., 2 lbs.. = 2+ lbs., etc.).  The “small/seconds” are tomatoes weighing 1-3 ounces or slight blemishes and “regular” tomatoes weigh over 3 ounces each.  Our tomatoes are vine-ripened and picked after they have reached full flavor at least 50% pink  (AKA “breakers”) or more. Most commercially grown tomatoes are harvested green to withstand shipping and storage, which affect their flavor, and then ripened later.

BEEFSTEAK TOMATO – Beefsteak tomatoes are a favorite among food enthusiasts and gardeners. They are good to use on sandwiches and hamburgers, in salads, diced in salsa, broiled, grilled, or stuffed. Beefsteak tomatoes have thinner skins than the typical “slicer” tomato and are ideal for a tomato sandwich or Caprese salad. Quality Beefsteak tomatoes are hard to find in grocery stores unless locally grown.

STORING – The best way to store tomatoes is with no stems, sitting on a flat surface (e.g., large plate) stem side down, and at room temperature. Never store tomatoes in a refrigerator and keep them out of direct sunlight. A good way to speed-ripen tomatoes is by putting them in a bag with bananas.

NUTRITION – Tomatoes are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, potassium, and lycopene (known for its antioxidant properties). Tomatoes are also low in calories and high in fiber, making them a healthy addition to any diet.

HOW WE GROW – All of our fresh produce is non-GMO, grown hydroponically and year-round in greenhouses with natural light to provide clean, highly nutritious, and delicious produce. We follow organic principles (using OMRI products) so produce is never exposed to any harsh chemicals.
